Your right to remain silent, otherwise known as Miranda rights, is one of the most well-known phrases in American jurisprudence. It has been made famous through countless TV shows and movies in which a police officer recites it before an arrest.
I bet you’ve never seen a dog read his rights before the police questioned him, though.

Minrande Right Include
- Right to Remain Silent: “You have the right to remain silent.”
- Anything You Say Can Be Used Against You: “Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.”
- Right to an Attorney: “You have the right to an attorney.”
- Appointment of an Attorney if You Cannot Afford One: “If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you.”
The warning is to ensure that whatever you say is voluntary, protecting your Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and your Sixth Amendment right to an attorney.
I bet for a dog treat, he would have given in and talked.
