A robbery crew that appears to have been on a rampage picked the wrong victim. It sounds like he was the fifth person they targeted, and they found out that not everyone will give in without a fight.

Early Saturday morning, a group of four men got out of an SUV and tried to rob a 48-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman in Chicago. Imagine, once again, a story of violence out of Chicago.

One of the attackers was armed with a gun and hit the victim with it multiple times. He got a shot off, but the man fought back and ended up stabbing one of his assailants with something.

A source of CWBChicago told them one robber begged to get his gun back. “Give us back our gun!”

The victim wasn’t giving up the trophy (firearm) he deserved, and the group took off.

The Chicago police found an 18-year-old dead from multiple stab wounds lying in an alley about 15 minutes later. According to a witness, his “friends” had tossed him out of the SUV they fled the scene in.

CWBChicago reported they suspect the same crew of the following four other successful attacks that led up to this.

The gang stole the SUV they were using around 4:15 a.m.

They robbed a man around 5:22 a.m., but since he didn’t have any money, they took off with the ultrasound machine he was carrying for work.

Wasting no time, they tried to pistol-whip and rob another man at 5:25 a.m. This victim threw his morning coffee at them.

The fourth victim had their wallet and keys stolen around 5:41 a.m.

The fifth person on the list ended the crime spree around 6 a.m. when he stabbed the one attacker.

Over the past few weeks, the number of people no longer standing around and putting up with the out-of-control crime is rapidly increasing.

In one instance, a mob attacked a couple in a Tesla, and they got away by plowing through some cars to safety.

In another confrontation, right outside an upscale downtown Chicago hotel, a man turned the tables on someone attacking him. He chased the guy down and repeatedly punched him until his wife pulled him off.

I think we have skipped past vigilantly justice and gone straight to FAFO.

Ryan Carson and his girlfriend were heading home from a wedding around 4 a.m. Monday when 18-year-old Brian Dowling walked past them while sitting at a bus stop in Brooklyn.
Carson and his girlfriend got up and walked down the sidewalk behind Dowling, who started kicking at mopeds and bikes. Instead of stopping immediately, they continued, and the altercation began.

Dowling said to Carson, “What are you looking at?”

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said, “Mr. Carson begins to immediately try to de-escalate the situation.”

Carson told Dowling to “Chill, chill, chill,” and Dowling swung a knife. Dowling stabbed Carson three times, and one stab hit Carson’s heart.

On Thursday, the police arrested Dowling and charged him with murder with depraved indifference and criminal possession of a weapon.

Here's the full uncensored version of the Ryan Carson stabbing. He tripped over the bench leaving him disoriented and vulnerable on the ground. pic.twitter.com/VyWLfrbYgD

Carson was a far-left activist with socialist views, and in an interview from 2020, he said, “But the fact of the matter is, I’m fucking scared. I spent this summer, like many of the past years of my life, watching people I care about get attacked by the police in the streets.”

Lozada-Oliva was a friend of his who told the Gothamist, “I know he would have wanted people to use his death as a means to talk about structural wrongs in the city.” the Gothamist went on and said, “To say would have seen his killer as a victim of the kind of broken systems he was working to fix.”

Murdered Brooklyn antifa activist Ryan Carson, who is celebrated by leftists & Democrats for his "kindness," had locked his two accounts @RyantCarson & @ArtSchoolJock. But posts have emerged showing him celebrating death & violence. https://t.co/R5lBwKzu8L pic.twitter.com/jX7rLJsWNj

According to a friend named Acadia Cutschall, this isn’t the first time someone has attacked him. “I was present once when he literally talked a guy out of mugging him,” Cutschall told a local newspaper. “He gave him some money.”

This was a tragic yet preventable death. Just because you successfully de-escalated a situation or someone else did doesn’t mean you can repeat the outcome. It is a false sense of security to believe that something that happened before will work again. Maintain a gap between yourself and anyone who might be a threat, and do whatever you can to stay out of harm’s way.

That reactionary gap is what you need so you have time to respond and stay alive.

A stabbing Sunday morning in Florida is being considered a “Stand Your Ground” case, and the person claiming self-defense fled the scene.

It happened at Mugs & Jugs, north of Pensacola, Florida. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. last Sunday. When the police arrived, the person claiming self-defense was gone, and they took the man to the hospital with a minor stab wound.

It looks to be a self-defense case as the guy who got stabbed was the aggressor, according to the sheriff’s office, which told WEAR News on Monday that the second person involved has been located.

ECSO spokesperson Morgan Lewis told the News Journal, “A person had a minor stab wound to the thigh and left forearm and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s interesting to note that the authorities didn’t file charges against either person.

In an unrelated incident on Thursday, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office reported that 25-year-old Tierra Binion was fatally shot after a brawl inside the bar escalated outside the building. The sheriff advised business owners to look into additional protection.

Sheriff Simmons said, “My suggestion to anyone that has an establishment would be to concern yourself with security. Whether you hire an off-duty deputy, whether you hire an off-duty police officer, or whether you hire security guards of some sort, I would suggest you do that. If you’re expecting large crowds, large crowds sometimes can unfortunately lead to arguments, and it’s always good to be on the safe side.”

What is a “Stand Your Grund Law”

A person who is lawfully present in a certain area and feels threatened need not retreat before using deadly force to defend himself. Depending on the jurisdiction, different nuances apply.

“Duty to retreat” is the opposite of “standing your ground.” In jurisdictions that requires you to try to get away, even someone who is assaulted (or protecting a third party who is being attacked) may not use deadly force if it is possible to avoid the threat completely safely by retreating.

As quickly as these things escalate, you are typically going to be left to defend yourself.
